The Miami Hurricanes hold the No. 1 ranking in the College Football Playoff but are considered a touchdown underdog when they visit No. 4 Notre Dame, according to WSVN 7News. This unusual betting line is attributed to the injury of Miami's star wide receiver Malachi Toney, who is a significant part of the team's offense.

Sports analysts note that it is rare for a No. 1 team to be a large underdog in a regular-season game. The last comparable instance was in 2014 when Mississippi State was a touchdown underdog to Alabama. Miami's situation marks a rare occurrence in college football betting.

DraftKings' Director of Sports Operations Johnny Avello explained that while Toney's injury impacts Miami's offensive production, sometimes the betting line may overreact. He suggested the point spread could decrease before kickoff as public perception adjusts.

Miami enters the game undefeated at 8-0, while Notre Dame is ranked No. 4. The matchup is notable due to the unusual betting line and the injury impact on Miami.
