Man and woman wounded in Vine City shooting, police surround home
Atlanta police respond to shooting where suspects fired from under porch, injuring two and barricading themselves inside a home.
Atlanta police surrounded a home in the Vine City neighborhood Friday night after suspects hiding under a front porch opened fire, injuring a man and a woman, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
Officers patrolling near Foundry Street NW and Graves Street NW heard gunfire around 7:24 p.m. and found the two victims, both awake and breathing, who were then taken to the hospital.
Investigators said the shooting occurred in the 150 block of Vine Street NW, where the suspects ambushed the victims from beneath the porch.
Police received information that the suspects may have entered and barricaded themselves inside the home, prompting officers to surround the house and call in a task force for a standoff.
Authorities have not confirmed the number of suspects inside or if anyone has surrendered, nor have they released the victims' names or ages or determined a motive for the shooting.
