Coastal flood warning in effect for San Diego County until Thursday afternoon
NWS warns of significant coastal flooding along San Diego coast through late morning high tides until Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for San Diego County coastal areas, effective until 1 p.m. Thursday, during the late morning high tides.
Significant coastal flooding is expected, with water levels observed to be 1.5 to 1.7 feet above normal astronomical tide predictions, according to the NWS San Diego office.
The flooding may result in numerous road closures and inundation of low-lying properties, including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure in the affected coastal areas.
Some shoreline erosion is also anticipated during the late morning high tides over the warning period.
Residents and infrastructure managers along the coast are advised to prepare for rising water and take necessary precautions to protect life and property, as stated by the National Weather Service.
