Coastal flood warning in Miami-Dade until 8 PM with high rip current risk
NWS warns of significant coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents in Miami-Dade and Broward counties this evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for coastal Miami-Dade and Broward counties until 8 PM EDT this evening, October 28.
Significant coastal flooding is expected, with numerous roads potentially closed and low-lying properties, including homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure, at risk of inundation.
In addition to flooding, there is a High Rip Current Risk through this evening. Rip currents can be dangerous and may sweep swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
After 8 PM, a Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect until 8 PM Thursday, indicating moderate coastal flooding is expected to continue.
Residents are advised to stay aware of changing conditions, avoid flooded areas, and exercise caution near the shoreline to stay safe during this period.
