The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their sixth consecutive loss, falling 27-10 to the Washington Commanders in a Week 8 NFL matchup, according to Yahoo Sports. The Eagles started strong with a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, including a field goal and a touchdown run by Saquon Barkley, but failed to score again for the remainder of the game.

Tanner McKee, the Eagles' quarterback, completed 23 of 34 passes for 212 yards but struggled under pressure, being sacked five times and losing a fumble. The Eagles' offense was hampered by poor pass protection and penalties, including an illegal formation that nullified a successful field goal attempt in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Philadelphia had moments such as a forced fumble by Andrew Mukuba recovered by Zack Baun, which set up Barkley's touchdown. However, Washington responded with sustained drives, including an 11-play, 89-yard touchdown drive led by Jayden Daniels, who threw for 217 yards and a touchdown.

Washington's running game was effective, rushing for 135 yards at an average of 5.2 yards per carry, helping the Commanders control the game after the first quarter. The Commanders scored 27 unanswered points to secure the victory and improve their NFC East standing to 2-4-1, while the Eagles dropped to 2-6, marking their worst start through eight games since 1999.

The Eagles' offensive struggles, including an inability to establish a physical rushing attack and convert third downs, raised questions about their offensive personnel and execution moving forward. The loss also extended their losing streak to six games for the first time since 2012.
