Elizabeth City area sees mild start to November with showers late week
A warm-up is expected midweek in Elizabeth City, with showers and possible storms arriving Thursday or Friday.
Elizabeth City and surrounding areas in Eastern North Carolina are experiencing a cool start to November, with breezy northeast winds today, according to WITN.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy overnight, which should limit fog development to patchy areas at worst. Monday may bring some clouds and a few showers near the coast due to a moist east breeze and a weak disturbance, though some locations might stay dry.
Tuesday looks drier, providing favorable conditions for Election Day activities. Then, temperatures will rise significantly Wednesday and Thursday, with highs reaching the 70s and possibly low 80s inland, and mild overnight lows.
Later in the week, a large trough moving from the Central U.S. is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms Thursday or Friday. While timing is uncertain, heavy downpours and some strong storms are possible, though confidence in severe weather remains low at this time.
