East Palo Alto’s Measure O, a $125-million bond to finance a new city hall, police headquarters, and a larger library, appeared to pass based on Tuesday evening election results, according to Palo Alto Online.
The bond required approval from 66.6% of local voters and received 73.8% support with 1,179 votes counted as of 9:30 p.m., indicating strong community backing.
Vice Mayor Ruben Abrica described the bond’s passage as a key step in East Palo Alto’s next phase of development and growth.
While the results could still fluctuate, the early returns suggest the city will move forward with these civic projects funded by the bond measure.
