Early election results show Linda Henigin and Avery Wang leading the race for two seats on the Palo Alto Unified Board of Education, according to Palo Alto Online.

The seats are open due to board President Shounak Dharap terming out and board member Shana Segal not seeking re-election.

Henigin, a district parent, longtime school employee, volunteer, and math teacher, secured about 38.7% of the vote with 7,678 votes counted so far.

John Craig is also running for the two available seats, but initial results place Henigin and Wang ahead.

The election results are preliminary and expected to fluctuate in the coming days as more votes are counted.
