Gas prices fall to lowest level in a month in Los Angeles County

Gas prices in California have decreased to their lowest level in about a month, according to KTLA 5. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state is now $5.80, which is 57 cents less than a month ago.

In Los Angeles County specifically, the current average price at the pump is $5.87 per gallon. Surrounding counties also saw declines, with Orange County at $5.75, Ventura County at $5.83, Riverside County at $5.66, and San Bernardino County at $5.71.

AAA reported that gas prices have been falling for nearly two weeks, influenced by a drop in crude oil prices to the high $80s to low $90s per barrel. Despite the recent decreases, prices remain the highest ever recorded for this time of year.

The national average price for gasoline on Friday was $4.06 per gallon, down 14 cents from the previous week. AAA noted that before 2026, the national average had never exceeded $4 per gallon in November, and this year’s average is over one dollar higher than last year’s.

Drivers in the Los Angeles area may find some relief at the pump as prices continue to trend downward, though costs remain elevated compared to previous years.
