Gaston County woman moves after shots fired into her home
A woman in south Gastonia is leaving her home after about two dozen gunshots struck it early Oct. 21.
A Gaston County woman is moving out of her home because she fears for her safety after a shooting incident earlier this month, WBTV reported.
Maria Roman said around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, about two dozen gunshots woke her in her south Gastonia home. Some bullets went through her front door, living room, and out the back door.
Roman’s children were not home during the shooting, but she expressed concern that they could have been seriously harmed. She said the event has stolen her peace and left her fearful of being outside her home.
Gaston County police detectives are investigating the shooting, but Roman said she has not received sufficient communication from them. She hopes for more direct contact to gain peace of mind and clarity about whether the shooting was random or targeted.
WBTV reached out to Gaston County police for comment and is awaiting a response.
