Richmond's Collegiate School 8th graders recently engaged in practical lessons about getting around the city without a car, Richmond BizSense reported.

Students rode a GRTC bus from Willow Lawn to downtown Richmond, gaining firsthand experience with public transit.

They also discussed pedestrian safety with members of the city's Safe and Healthy Streets Commission, highlighting local efforts to improve walkability.

Additionally, the students learned to fix a flat tire at VCU's RamBikes, enhancing their bike maintenance skills and promoting alternative transportation.

These activities aimed to increase awareness of transportation options and safety in Richmond among young residents.
