Goochland estate near Richmond relisted at nearly $10M after renovations
A 62-acre Hermitage Country Club estate in Goochland returns to market at $9.99 million after upgrades.
A large estate in Goochland, part of the Hermitage Country Club community near Richmond, has been relisted for sale at $9.99 million, Richmond BizSense reported. This marks the third time the property has been on the market, with the previous asking prices being $3.7 million and $3.9 million in earlier years.
The estate, located at 1 Starwood Lane, includes 62 fenced-in acres and a 15,700-square-foot home that was originally built in 1984. Since it was last listed four years ago, the property has undergone substantial remodeling and upgrades, including new paint, a slate roof, a paved driveway, and interior updates.
Scott Ruth and Scott Shaheen of SRMF Real Estate are handling the listing for local developer Robert Chesson, who purchased the estate in 2016 for $2.7 million. The property now includes more than double the land area compared to previous listings.
The home features four levels with six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and four half-baths. The estate also fronts Hermitage Lake and contains sites of historical interest within the Hermitage Country Club property.
The estate was previously owned by Jonnie Williams, former CEO of Star Scientific, and before that by industrialist Harry Figgie, who built the home after relocating his company to the area. The listing aims to attract buyers interested in one of the Richmond area’s priciest high-end homes this year.
