Jordyn Palmer commits to South Carolina women's basketball for 2027

South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley secured a fourth commitment for the 2027 recruiting cycle with Jordyn Palmer, a 6-foot-1 wing and small forward ranked No. 7 overall by ESPN, according to Yahoo Sports.

Palmer chose South Carolina over Ohio State, UCLA, and Penn State, citing the school's strong program and her comfort with the campus and coaching staff as key factors in her decision, Yahoo Sports reported.

This commitment marks the third 5-star recruit for South Carolina this cycle, joining guard GG Banks and center Zaniya Johnson, with Taylor Brown, a four-star guard, as the first commit of the cycle.

According to Yahoo Sports, this will be the sixth time coach Dawn Staley has had three five-star recruits in one class, joining previous classes from 2014, 2017, 2018, 2021, and now 2027.

Palmer highlighted her jump shot and ability to pull up as areas she is working to elevate, adding to her known strengths of driving to the basket and playing strong down low.
