Lamar Jackson returns to Ravens practice with ankle wrap ahead of Bengals game
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson resumed limited practice as he recovers from an ankle injury before Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
Two-time MVP and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to team practice on Wednesday in a limited role, wearing street clothes and a light wrap on his left ankle, The Baltimore Banner reported.
Jackson injured his ankle in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans and missed two games and six practices. The team has had mixed results without him, winning one upset and losing another, according to The Baltimore Banner.
Coach Jesse Minter said Jackson was able to participate in some practice work and that his status remains day-to-day as he prepares for the Week 7 game Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson had a strong start to the season under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, including a 300-yard passing game and a 500-yard offensive performance against the Indianapolis Colts, The Baltimore Banner noted.
The Ravens have faced challenges with injuries on their offensive line, including losing all three centers by Week 4, which contributed to Jackson's ankle injury during a tackle in Week 5.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley has filled in during Jackson's absence, leading the team to a win over the Atlanta Falcons and a loss to the Cleveland Browns, who now lead the AFC North despite sharing the same record as the Ravens.
Jackson is in the final year of his contract and is working to get back to full speed ahead of the upcoming game against Cincinnati, according to The Baltimore Banner.
