Lamine Yamal and Raphinha score twice as Barcelona thrash Alaves 6-1

Barcelona recovered from recent defeats by defeating Alaves 6-1 at Camp Nou, regaining the top position in La Liga, Al Jazeera reported.

Raphinha scored two goals in the first half, with Lamine Yamal adding two more, including one just before halftime, helping Barcelona bounce back after losses in the Champions League and El Clasico.

Atletico Madrid, in second place, won 2-0 at Levante but remained two points behind Barcelona following the Catalan side's dominant performance.

Barcelona's coach Hansi Flick and midfielder Fermin Lopez highlighted the importance of the win in front of their fans, with Lopez stating that players like Yamal and Raphinha will help the team achieve big things.

The match began with a minute of silence honoring 69 victims of a recent train crash in Toledo province.

Barcelona will next host Aston Villa in the Champions League and then face Atletico Madrid in a key La Liga match, while Alaves have now gone seven games without a win and sit 10th in the table.
