Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded shortly after 6 a.m. Friday to a house fire reported in the 12800 block of Donegal Drive, according to NBC12.

Firefighters found smoke coming from a one-story home and a fire in the attic. They brought the fire under control in less than 15 minutes, NBC12 reported.

Officials believe the fire was sparked by lightning from Friday morning’s storms, which brought heavy rainfall and scattered thunderstorms to much of Central Virginia, including Chesterfield, WRIC 8News said.

No injuries were reported, but one person was displaced as a result of the fire, WRIC 8News added.

The StormTracker8 team noted that while the best chance for thunderstorms was earlier in the morning, additional storms could not be ruled out later in the day, WRIC 8News reported.
