Man and woman dead in apparent murder-suicide in northeast Miami-Dade apartment

Two people were found dead from gunshot wounds inside an apartment in northeast Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Deputies responded to a complex on the 17000 block of Northeast 14th Avenue, near North Miami Beach High School, where they found a man and a woman with gunshot injuries. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the woman had come to the man's apartment to pick up her belongings. After allowing her inside, the man armed himself, shot the woman, and then shot himself, according to a Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office spokesperson.

Authorities have not released the identities of the two individuals and are still working to determine their relationship. Detectives are also investigating whether any witnesses or surveillance footage exist and if there were prior incidents at the apartment.

The investigation is ongoing, with more information expected to be released as it develops.
