Seattle police and fire departments responded to a stabbing incident in the 4600 block of 35th SW, according to West Seattle Blog.

Initial reports indicated a stabbing, but officers later clarified the victim was hit with a hatchet rather than a knife.

The victim declined transport to a hospital and became uncooperative, as reported by the responding officers.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a thin Hispanic male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a black shirt and jeans, last seen running northbound.

Details about the relationship between the victim and suspect or the circumstances of the attack remain unknown, and police have not released further information yet.
