The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a crash that occurred just before 11 a.m. Saturday in Lodi involving a bicyclist and a community service officer from the Lodi Police Department, CBS News reported.

The incident caused significant traffic delays near West Kettleman Lane and South Stockton Street, according to Lodi police.

Witnesses stated that the bicyclist ran a red light before entering the intersection, but authorities have not yet determined whether the bicyclist or the driver was at fault.

The bicyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Because the crash involved a Lodi police vehicle, CHP is leading the investigation.
