The 2026 KFF Women’s Health Survey reveals that over 50% of women living in states with abortion bans would not know where to obtain an abortion if needed, marking an increase since 2024, according to KFF.

The survey provides national estimates on reproductive-age women's experiences with abortion, the impact of the Dobbs decision on abortion access, and concerns about future pregnancies.

Since the 2022 Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade and federal abortion protections, access to abortion services has changed significantly, as reflected in women's reported experiences.

KFF's research also covers women's awareness of medication abortion availability and their experiences with pregnancy and miscarriage over the past decade.

The findings highlight ongoing challenges in abortion access and knowledge, especially in states with restrictive laws, as documented by KFF's independent health policy research.

KFF continues to analyze public opinion and experiences to inform national debates on women's health policy and reproductive rights.
