Netflix has reduced its London office workforce by about 2 to 3 percent, according to Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline. This reduction is part of a larger company-wide restructuring that saw approximately 1,000 layoffs globally, the largest since 2022.

Among those affected in London is Anna Mallett, who served as vice president of physical production for the UK and local-language content across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Mallett joined Netflix in 2020 from ITN, where she was CEO, and oversaw production management for live-action series, non-fiction, and film.

During her tenure, Netflix launched several UK hits including 'Baby Reindeer' and 'Adolescence.' She also contributed to productions in EMEA and Latin America. Her exit follows the departure of other top executives such as Bela Bajaria in the US.

Netflix co-CEOs Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos have stated that international operations and local titles remain strong and are driving business growth. They emphasize that while the US market needs better execution, the overall global content strategy remains unchanged for now.

The London office layoffs also included some roles in publicity and communications. The company is focusing on improving content execution, particularly in the US, while continuing to support international productions.

The staff reductions at Netflix’s London headquarters reflect ongoing adjustments following the company's recent US reorganization and leadership changes, signaling potential further shifts in the future.
