Jack Lowden says James Bond speculation is flattering but stays quiet
Actor Jack Lowden acknowledges rumors about him being the next James Bond but declines to comment further.
Jack Lowden, known for his role in the series Slow Horses, has addressed speculation about him potentially being cast as the next James Bond. The 36-year-old Scottish actor described the rumors as "very flattering" but chose not to confirm or deny his involvement in the casting process, according to BBC Entertainment and Variety.
Lowden is reportedly among a shortlist of actors considered for the iconic role, alongside Callum Turner and Josh O’Connor. The next Bond will succeed Daniel Craig, who last appeared as the character in 2021’s No Time To Die, as reported by BBC Entertainment.
His co-star Gary Oldman publicly expressed support for Lowden, stating that the casting decision had been made but not yet announced. Lowden responded appreciatively to Oldman’s comments but said he does not pay much attention to the speculation, as noted by Hollywood Reporter and Variety.
The casting process appears to be in its final stages, with screen tests reportedly taking place in London for Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming James Bond film, directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight, according to Hollywood Reporter and Variety.
Lowden suggested that being linked to the Bond role is common for young male actors who fit a certain profile, especially when seen in a suit, as reported by Variety.
