Samsung’s P9 MicroSD Express cards designed for Nintendo Switch 2 storage have dropped in price, with the 256GB model available for $47.99 at multiple retailers including Amazon and B&H Photo, The Verge reported.

The 512GB version is also discounted to $99, down from typical prices between $150 and $200, reflecting ongoing memory shortages.

These microSD Express cards offer sequential read speeds up to 800MB/s, though only devices with microSD Express slots can fully utilize these speeds. Compatible devices include certain cameras, tablets, drones, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

First-party Switch 2 games usually range from 10 to 30GB, with some third-party titles requiring even more space, making expanded storage useful for gamers. The upcoming Legend of Zelda remake is 27GB, while Cyberpunk 2077 is 60GB.

Besides the Switch 2, the Asus ROG Ally X20 gaming handheld running Windows 11 also supports the MicroSD Express standard, broadening the card’s use in gaming devices.
