This warning is in effect until 9:00 PM EST and was prompted by a strong thunderstorm located over Cape Florida moving northwest at 25 knots, according to the NWS radar data.
The hazard includes wind gusts of 34 knots or greater, which could cause damage to small craft due to briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
The impacted locations include Sunny Isles, Virginia Key, Bay Harbor Islands, Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, Surfside, Coral Gables, North Bay Village, Indian Creek, and Cape Florida.
The NWS advises mariners to exercise caution in these areas during the warning period to ensure safety on the water.
