Warm weather with rain chances expected in Elizabeth City this week
Elizabeth City will see unseasonably warm temperatures with some rain and storms possible Friday ahead of a cold front.
A moist easterly flow has settled over Eastern North Carolina, including Elizabeth City, bringing cloudy skies and a light breeze, WITN reported.
Tonight and Tuesday morning, patchy fog may develop, mainly inland and eastern areas, so drivers should take care during early commutes. Fog is expected to lift by Tuesday morning, with mostly dry conditions on Election Day.
Wednesday and Thursday will bring a few light, scattered showers, mainly near the coast, but many areas including Elizabeth City may stay dry. Temperatures will be unseasonably warm, with highs climbing into the 70s and even low 80s inland, according to WITN.
Friday is the day to watch as a cold front moves in late with a 40-50% chance of rain and a few thunderstorms possible. Showers and storms could become stronger in the afternoon when temperatures are highest. Timing is still being tracked.
The weekend will bring a cooler, more typical November pattern with mostly sunny skies, highs in the 60s, and lows in the 40s. No marine advisories are currently in effect, but seas will build late in the week, which may affect boating and beach plans.
