The South Carolina Stingrays extended their unbeaten streak by defeating the Savannah Ghost Pirates 7-3 on Friday night at the North Charleston Coliseum, according to Live 5 WCSC. The game drew a crowd of 4,223 fans and featured a season-high seven goals scored by the Stingrays, who also recorded a power-play goal for the fifth consecutive game to open the season.

The first period saw Josh Wilkins open scoring for the Stingrays with a skillful goal nine minutes in, followed by a quick response from Savannah. Alex Gaffney then scored his first professional goal late in the period, giving South Carolina a 2-1 lead heading into the second period, ABC News 4 WCIV reported.

Early in the second period, Savannah tied the game with a power-play goal, marking the first power-play goal the Stingrays had conceded this season. South Carolina quickly regained the lead with goals from Zack Andrusiak and Kyle Jackson, extending their advantage to 4-2. Savannah narrowed the margin again before Tyler Weiss scored on a breakaway, putting the Stingrays ahead 5-3.

In the third period, Weiss assisted Josh Prokop, who scored his first goal as a Stingray and later added a second goal to secure the victory. Goaltender Ben Kraws made 25 saves and maintained an unbeaten record in four starts. The Stingrays have started the season with five straight wins for the first time since the 2002-03 season, ABC News 4 WCIV noted.

The Stingrays will look to continue their strong start as they progress through the season, building on their offensive performance and solid goaltending at home in North Charleston.
