Ravens aim to reframe season with win over Bills at new Highmark Stadium
Baltimore Ravens look to bounce back in Week 8 against Buffalo Bills with Lamar Jackson's return.
The Baltimore Ravens are preparing for a crucial Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills at the new Highmark Stadium, aiming to reframe their 2025 season after a tough 4-3 start, The Baltimore Banner reported.
The Ravens opened the season with a narrow 41-40 loss to the Bills in Orchard Park, New York, a game described as a significant collapse in coach John Harbaugh’s history. With consecutive losses to the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, the team faces a challenging road ahead against one of the AFC’s Super Bowl favorites.
Coach Jesse Minter emphasized the importance of this point in the season, calling it a decision moment for the type of team the Ravens want to be. Inside linebacker Teddye Buchanan acknowledged the pressure, saying the team’s backs are 'against the wall.'
Quarterback Lamar Jackson’s return is a key factor for the Ravens. Statistics show the team’s offensive explosiveness is significantly higher with Jackson on the field, with 14 explosive completions and 18 explosive runs compared to fewer when he is off the field.
Wide receiver Zay Flowers has averaged 7.84 yards per route run with Jackson this season, accumulating 16 catches for 353 yards in their eight quarters together. Despite limited playing time alongside Jackson, Flowers is tied with Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba for the league lead in yards per route run at 3.71.
The Ravens see this game as an opportunity to regain control of their season in the remaining 10 games, with the outcome potentially shaping their playoff chances and team identity moving forward.
