The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Alberto Alonso Alencastro, 25, in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Avtar Singh, a man abducted in Tracy earlier this year, CBS News Bay Area reported.

Alencastro was apprehended in Mexico through coordination with Mexican authorities and has been extradited back to San Joaquin County. He is one of three men suspected in the case.

Singh was kidnapped in February from the Tracy Gurdwara during the day. Surveillance footage showed him being forced into a white SUV by three men. His body was later discovered near Lake Berryessa.

Officials believe Singh was mistakenly targeted and that the kidnapping was related to a stolen trailer. The other two suspects, Alfonso Cresencio Segura Arellano, 20, and Barnabe Antonio Segura Arellano, 22, remain at large.
