Three northbound lanes of I-95 near Baltimore close for emergency repairs
Emergency repairs on I-95 near Exit 38B will reduce northbound lanes to one through Saturday, causing traffic delays.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration announced that three northbound lanes of I-95 will be closed starting at 9 p.m. Friday for emergency repairs near Exit 38B, which leads to westbound MD 32, The Baltimore Banner reported.
The closure will leave only one northbound lane open as crews work to replace a bridge joint in the area. The repairs are expected to continue through Saturday, but no exact reopening time has been provided.
I-95 is a major travel corridor running diagonally across Maryland just south of Baltimore, with daily traffic volumes between 193,000 and 243,000 vehicles as of 2023, according to The Baltimore Banner.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead for weekend travel and consider alternate routes to avoid delays. Real-time traffic updates are available on the Maryland DOT website.
