Universal Orlando to add new indoor coaster to Epic Universe's Dark Universe

Universal Orlando announced plans for a new indoor roller coaster at Dark Universe, a themed land within its Epic Universe park, according to WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando and FOX 35 Orlando.

The new coaster will be inspired by the Universal Monsters franchise and is being constructed on a plot behind the existing Monsters Unchained attraction, which features classic monsters like Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, WKMG reported.

This new attraction will be the third ride in Dark Universe, joining the outdoor spinning coaster Curse of the Werewolf and the dark ride Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, FOX 35 Orlando said.

Construction is already underway, but Universal has not announced an opening date, only stating the ride will debut in the “years ahead,” WKMG and FOX 35 Orlando reported.

Epic Universe opened in May 2025 and has several expansion plots for future attractions, including near The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal also has other projects planned for the resort, such as a Fast & Furious coaster opening in 2027 and a reimagined Horror Make-Up show later this year, FOX 35 Orlando added.
