Laura Owens, an Arizona woman who falsely claimed to be pregnant with former Bachelor star Clayton Echard's twins, has been sentenced, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. Owens was ordered to serve 30 days in county jail and received seven years of probation during her sentencing hearing on October 23.

Owens pleaded guilty to four felonies, including fraudulent schemes and artifices, identity theft, and perjury, according to Fox San Antonio. As part of a plea agreement, additional charges were dropped. She was initially indicted on seven felony charges in May 2025 in Maricopa County.

If Owens violates the terms of her probation, she could face up to 12 years in prison, local21news.com reported. Owens expressed remorse in court, stating she was profoundly sorry for the pain and expense caused by her actions.

Clayton Echard addressed the court, emphasizing the need for jail time to help Owens understand the seriousness of her crimes. He also stated that he believed Owens remained a threat to others and noted that her tears were not from empathy but from fear of incarceration, according to news4sanantonio.com.

The case had previously been covered in the "Love Trapped" podcast earlier this year, highlighting the saga involving Owens and Echard.
