Addendum — Annual GET Essay Awards

Event. The first GET Essay Awards is planned for Saturday, December 4, 2027 at [VENUE, CITY], and streamed on GET TV. Sponsor may change the date, format or location.
Nominees. Essayist of the Year: the sixteen (16) first-place winners of the Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Seasoned divisions across the four Season 1 Contests. Junior Writer of the Year and Little Creator of the Year: the four (4) first-place winners of those divisions across Season 1. Reader's Choice of the Year: the four (4) quarterly Reader's Choice winners.
Judging. A Grand Panel of the four quarterly panel chairs and two (2) guest judges scores nominees' winning entries using the D1 rubric. Reader's Choice of the Year is decided by member vote under D1 Section 7.
Awards. Essayist of the Year $2,500; Junior Writer of the Year $500; Little Creator of the Year $250; Reader's Choice of the Year $500. Teacher of the Year ($500) and School of the Year ($1,000 grant to the school) are selected by the Grand Panel from nominations made by members, based on criteria posted on the Awards page.
Attendance. Attendance is not required to win. Travel and lodging are not included unless stated in writing by Sponsor. [DECISION: travel for top winners.]
