Version 0.1-draft · draft · effective October 24, 2026
Eligibility. Students enrolled in 10th, 11th or 12th grade, or in their first or second year of an accredited college, university or community college, on the round's opening date, who otherwise meet D1 Section 3. Students under 18 require Parent consent.
Rounds. Two rounds per year (Fall and Spring) on dates posted on the Scholars page. One entry per student per round.
Format. Original essay of 600–1,000 words on the round's prompt, which may be set with university partners.
Judging. Stage 1 and Stage 2 as in D1 Section 6; the top twenty (20) are judged by a Scholarship Panel of three to five (3–5) judges, which may include representatives of funding partners who have no relationship to any finalist.
Awards. Scholarship amounts, number of awards and funders are posted for each round. Awards are paid directly to the winner's accredited institution for tuition, fees, books or housing [COUNSEL: confirm]. Sponsor retains an administration fee of ten percent (10%) of partner funding, which does not reduce the posted award amounts.
Verification. Winners must provide proof of enrollment before payment.
