Membership, Subscription and Paid Services Terms

Free membership. A GET Essay account, all Contest entries, daily prompts, a basic rubric score per entry, starter Academy videos, reader feedback and a basic profile are free.
Paid plans (prices in U.S. dollars, before applicable tax):
Plan Price Includes GET News subscription — introductory $12 for the first year, then renews at $48 per year Full GET News access. Offered to GET Essay members and voters Portfolio Portal $7 per month or $70 per year Personal portfolio site and link, unlimited essays and artwork, gallery, college sharing tools, view statistics, PDF export GET Essay Plus $15 per month or $150 per year Portfolio Portal, all Academy courses, two (2) written tutor reviews per month, priority scoring GET Family $25 per month or $250 per year GET Essay Plus for up to four (4) writers in one household, plus a GET News subscription Automatic renewal disclosure (shown at checkout, next to the purchase button). "Your [PLAN] will automatically renew every [month/year] at [PRICE] plus tax, charged to your payment method on file, until you cancel. [For the GET News introductory offer: You will be charged $12 today; on [DATE ONE YEAR FROM TODAY] and each year after, you will be charged $48 plus tax unless you cancel.] Cancel anytime in Account › Billing or at [URL]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period." The member must affirmatively check a box agreeing to these terms; the box is not pre-checked.
Confirmation and reminders. After purchase, we email a confirmation stating the plan, price, renewal frequency, renewal amount and how to cancel. For annual plans, we email a reminder at least [30] days before each renewal. [COUNSEL: confirm timing against state automatic-renewal laws and the FTC rules in effect.]
Cancellation. Members can cancel online in the same number of steps or fewer than it took to sign up, without having to contact anyone. Access continues through the end of the paid period.

Purchasing any plan or service does not affect eligibility, screening, judging, voting or prizes, and Contest staff and judges cannot see purchase history.
Feedback is not rewriting. Scores, reviews and tutoring explain strengths and next steps; tutors may not write or rewrite any part of a Contest entry. Tutors who do so are removed and the affected entry may be disqualified.
Minors. Purchases for or by members under 18 must be made by a Parent.
Payments. Payments are processed by our payment providers [PROVIDER NAME(S), including TRG Pay when launched]. We do not store full card numbers.
