American Airlines is set to restart flights to Haiti with a special flight departing Miami International Airport at 10 a.m. on Sunday, WSVN reported.

The flight to Cap-Haïtien will be operated by an all Haitian crew, marking a significant milestone as the first major U.S. airline to fly to Haiti in two years.

Flights to and from Port-au-Prince remain banned, but Miami-Dade County leaders and airport officials plan to celebrate the return of service to Cap-Haïtien with a ceremony at the airport.

This resumption of service highlights Miami International Airport's ongoing role as a key hub for travel between South Florida and the Caribbean region.
