Chris Brown receives eight-month suspended sentence for London nightclub attack
Chris Brown was sentenced to an eight-month prison term suspended for 12 months after pleading guilty to affray in a London nightclub incident.
Chris Brown pleaded guilty to affray, a public order offense, following an attack at a London nightclub in Mayfair in 2023, according to Hollywood Reporter and BBC Entertainment.
At Southwark Crown Court, Brown was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months, meaning he will avoid jail unless he commits another offense within that period, as reported by Variety and Deadline.
The attack involved Brown striking a music producer multiple times on the head with a glass tequila bottle, which caused injuries requiring hospital treatment, BBC Entertainment stated.
Brown's co-defendant, his vocal coach Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded guilty to affray and received a four-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months, with both ordered to pay £1,500 in costs, the BBC reported.
The judge noted the seriousness of the attack but considered Brown's charitable activities and role as a father in his sentencing, emphasizing no special treatment was given, according to Hollywood Reporter.
