Emily Osment requested intimacy coordinator on Young Sheldon over age gap
Emily Osment sought an intimacy coordinator on Young Sheldon due to her age difference with co-star Montana Jordan.
Emily Osment, who joined the CBS series Young Sheldon in 2022 at age 30, requested an intimacy coordinator because of the significant age gap between her and co-star Montana Jordan, who was 18 at the time, Deadline reported.
Osment expressed discomfort not about performing intimate scenes, but because Jordan was very young, describing him as "a baby with a mullet," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Although Osment and Jordan did not share sex scenes initially, the relationship between their characters escalated, prompting the production to bring in an intimacy coordinator for subsequent episodes, Deadline noted.
Osment highlighted the importance of having an intimacy coordinator to make both actors comfortable and mentioned that Jordan might not have known he could request one himself, The Hollywood Reporter added.
Director Alex Reid acknowledged in the same source that the production initially overlooked the need for an intimacy coordinator but later addressed this issue to support the actors during filming.
