16-year-old arrested in Hernando County for armed sexual battery

A teenager was arrested Sunday in Hernando County for armed sexual battery and possible vehicle burglary, sheriff says.

According to WFLA 8, deputies arrested a 16-year-old on Sunday in Hernando County. The teenager is believed to be responsible for an armed sexual battery that occurred at a local gas station.

In addition to the sexual battery charge, the sheriff's office suspects the teenager may also be involved in a vehicle burglary connected to the incident.

Authorities have not released further details about the incident or the investigation status at this time.
