Holland Taylor left 'Two and a Half Men' due to pay and contract issues
Holland Taylor revealed she didn't renew her contract on 'Two and a Half Men' because of low pay and desire for flexibility.
Holland Taylor, known for playing the mother of Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer's characters on 'Two and a Half Men,' explained her reasons for not renewing her contract after six years, according to Variety.
Taylor said she was never paid well on the show despite receiving four Emmy nominations for her supporting role. She noted that her salary remained similar to what she earned on a series eight years earlier and that she never received a raise.
After the sixth season, Taylor chose to stop being under contract and instead appeared occasionally as a guest star, allowing her more control over her schedule. She mentioned that producers were surprised by her decision but she valued the flexibility.
Taylor said she loved many aspects of the show but added that the production team "were not full of courtesies." She said she was willing to visit the show occasionally because she played the boys' mother.
