Coastal flood warning in effect for San Diego County until Thursday afternoon
NWS warns of significant coastal flooding and road closures in San Diego County through Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for San Diego County coastal areas, effective until 1 p.m. Thursday, according to the NWS San Diego office.
The warning indicates significant flooding is expected during high tides in the late mornings through Thursday. Observed high tides are 1.5 to 1.7 feet above normal astronomical tide levels.
Numerous roads may be closed due to flooding, and low-lying properties including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure could be inundated. Some shoreline erosion is also anticipated during the late morning high tides.
Coastal residents and infrastructure managers are advised to prepare for rising water and take appropriate actions to protect life and property during this period.
