Saturday Night Live UK presented a parody sketch titled 'Nigerian Wicked' during Cynthia Erivo's hosting stint, spoofing the musical Wicked with a Nollywood twist, Deadline reported.

In the sketch, Erivo played Glinda wearing a blonde wig and pink velour tracksuit, while Ayoade Bamgboye portrayed Elphaba. The story follows their characters as they journey to meet the Wizard of LagOz, a Nigerian version of the Wizard of Oz, Variety detailed.

The parody included comedic moments such as Glinda slapping Elphaba for being 'classless' and a reimagined makeover scene where Elphaba complains about costs. The two characters also share a near kiss, nodding to fans who ship them together, according to Variety.

At the Wizard's place, Glinda asks for a Birkin bag while Elphaba wants a 'skinny BBL,' but they discover the Wizard is broke, leading to humorous dialogue about their predicament, as described by Variety.

The sketch offers a fresh, culturally specific take on the Wicked story, incorporating Nigerian humor and references, Deadline noted.

This parody responds to fans' desires for sapphic representation between Elphaba and Glinda, which the official Wicked movies have not provided, Deadline added.
