Double-fatal crash on I-95 northbound near MD 100 causes delays
Two drivers died in a crash on I-95 northbound near MD 100 early Saturday, causing lane closures and traffic delays.
A double-fatal crash occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 95 northbound just past Maryland Route 100 near Elkridge, Maryland State Police reported. The crash involved a 2025 Jeep Gladiator traveling southbound in the northbound lanes and a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee moving northbound.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to emergency medical services. Maryland State Police identified the drivers as a 37-year-old man from Rosedale and a 47-year-old man from Baltimore.
Officials indicated that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash. The incident led to the closure of all northbound lanes and one southbound lane on I-95 as investigators worked to clear the scene.
By 10:23 a.m., the Maryland Department of Transportation reported that the northbound lanes had reopened. The Maryland State Police Crash Team continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
