West Sacramento's River Fox Train unveils locomotive celebrating U.S. 250th anniversary
The River Fox Train revealed a locomotive with a patriotic wrap honoring America's 250 years and railroading history.
The River Fox Train, operating out of West Sacramento, unveiled a locomotive commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary and 200 years of railroading, railfan.com reported.
The locomotive, Sierra Northern Railway 2658, features a patriotic wrap with the American flag, official America 250 branding, and imagery of the Sacramento skyline and Tower Bridge.
Though the nation's 250th anniversary concludes soon, the wrap will remain through 2027, marking the bicentennial of railroading in the U.S., according to railfan.com.
This locomotive will be used on the River Fox Train’s seasonal excursions, including themed rides like the Magical Christmas Train, Old Vine Express, and Murder Mystery Dinner Train.
The River Fox Train operates on the former Woodland Branch of the Sacramento Northern Railroad and offers year-round themed train rides from West Sacramento, run by the Mendocino Railway, a sister company of Sierra Northern Railway.
