Gun found inside Halloween candy box at DC early education center

A gun was found inside a box of Halloween candy at KIPP DC Grow Academy's Shaw Campus in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, according to FOX 5 DC.

A staff member discovered the firearm while preparing to distribute candy one day before Halloween. The staff followed safety protocols by securing the gun and notifying D.C. police, FOX 5 DC reported.

No students came into contact with the firearm, and no injuries were reported, school officials said. Families were informed about the incident.
