Indiana, Minnesota meet in Big Ten football showdown Saturday
Indiana and Minnesota, both with one Big Ten loss, face off in their first meeting in five years Saturday.
The No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers (7-1) will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-2) on Saturday in a Big Ten Conference matchup, marking their first meeting in five years, Yahoo Sports reported.
Indiana recently secured a 13-6 overtime victory against Michigan, with quarterback Josh Hoover scoring the game’s only touchdown in overtime. The Hoosiers’ defense forced two turnovers and limited Michigan to 224 yards.
Minnesota earned a 13-10 win over No. 15 Iowa last week, with Luke Drzewiecki kicking a 46-yard field goal on the final play. The Gophers’ defense recorded three interceptions in that game.
Historically, Minnesota leads the all-time series 40-26-3 and has won the last four meetings, including a 35-14 victory at Indiana in 2021. Key players for Indiana include Hoover with 1,741 passing yards and 18 touchdowns, and Turbo Richard leading the rushing with 711 yards and six touchdowns.
Minnesota’s top performer is Drake Lindsey, who has 1,472 yards and nine touchdowns, according to Yahoo Sports.
