A major international study reported by ScienceDaily Health found that a simple blood test could predict the risk of Alzheimer’s-related cognitive decline up to 10 years before symptoms manifest.
According to the study, individuals at highest risk have a 38% chance of cognitive impairment within five years and a 78% chance within 10 years.
Scientists involved in the research believe this discovery could lead to earlier intervention strategies and the development of treatments aimed at preventing Alzheimer’s disease before memory problems begin.
