Macklemore says Free Palestine tour denied dates at major California venues
Seattle rapper Macklemore says his benefit tour was denied dates at Crypto.com Arena and other California venues.
Seattle rapper Macklemore announced that his 'Free Palestine' benefit tour was denied dates at nine U.S. venues, including several in California, according to reports from KPIC, MyNews4, and KFOX TV. Among the California venues mentioned were the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
Macklemore, who was dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour after making pro-Palestine remarks, said that once venues learned his shows were benefit concerts for Palestine, available dates were withdrawn. He described the experience as unprecedented in his 20 years of touring.
The musician completed shows in London, Dublin, and Paris in late October, but has faced scrutiny domestically over his public positions on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Jewish organizations have called on concert promoter Live Nation to explain its vetting process and how funds raised will be distributed.
Officials from Climate Pledge Arena and the other venues have not commented on the matter, according to KOMO News, which was cited in the reports.
This development directly affects Los Angeles-area venues and concertgoers interested in Macklemore's tour.
