Raleigh police responded to a shooting report just before 7 p.m. Monday in the 4300 block of Foxhound Road, where they found 18-year-old Christopher Peart dead at the scene, according to CBS17 and WRAL.

Investigators determined that Christopher Peart and his brother, 18-year-old Christian Peart, had arranged to meet a person they intended to rob. The robbery attempt involved trying to steal a Glock 19 handgun from the victim, valued at about $750, WRAL reported.

During the robbery, the victim tried to flee in a Honda Civic but lost control and crashed after being shot at. The victim then exited the vehicle and fired back toward the brothers before escaping the area, police said.

Raleigh police identified 18-year-old Chase Ince as a coordinator of the attempted robbery. Both Christopher Peart and Ince were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon. Christopher Peart also faces charges of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, according to CBS17.

The intended robbery victim has cooperated with the investigation, and authorities do not plan to file charges against him in connection with the shooting death of Christopher Peart, WRAL reported.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Raleigh Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
