PBS' science show SciNC is featuring Charlotte in its new season, showcasing local climate solutions, WFAE reported.

The show’s reporters travel across North Carolina to highlight scientific efforts, including a segment filmed at Charlotte’s Innovation Barn.

Reporter Michelle Lotker interviewed members of Envision Charlotte about their Crush Truck, a glass-crushing vehicle that processes glass from venues like the Spectrum Center.

This crushed glass is used as a low-carbon ingredient in concrete, reducing the need for cement, which is responsible for up to 8% of global carbon dioxide emissions, according to WFAE.

The new season of SciNC is available for streaming on PBS’ website, bringing these climate innovation stories to viewers statewide.
