The Golden State Valkyries, in just their second season, won their first WNBA Championship after defeating the Atlanta Dream in a Game 7 on Halloween night, CBS News Bay Area reported.

To celebrate, the team is holding a parade along San Francisco's Embarcadero on Wednesday, starting at noon near the Ferry Building and ending near Oracle Park around 2 p.m.

San Jose's mayor Matt Mahan will join the parade alongside San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie and Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee, according to CBS News Bay Area.

The parade will feature players, coaches, staff, and Bay Area icons and legends. Fans are encouraged to line up along the parade route starting at 9 a.m. and to use public transit.

Local coverage will begin at 9:30 a.m. on KPIX Channel 5, with streaming available on the CBS News app and Paramount+. BART will run extra trains and have increased security for the event.
